Why we exist
Software has long helped people organize information. The next step is helping them move a task forward: finding what matters, doing the work, and making the result clear enough to trust.
We don’t build AI models. Harness is the piece that makes them useful: it brings capability and control together in one place, built for real work from the first request to the finished result.

Founder and CEO
Josh founded NAU Labs to make AI useful for real work. He designs and builds the company’s products, starting with Harness, and works directly with the businesses that use them.
NAU Labs grew from building software against real operational problems. Harness carries that practical beginning into a broader product: one that can help with many kinds of work, on the computers and services people already rely on.
How we work
Four principles guide everything we build.

Let the work continue
Real tasks take time. A closed tab, a new chat, or a slow tool should not stop the work. It should pick up where it left off.

Make results easy to check
Before you rely on a result, you should be able to check how it was made: the sources used, the steps taken, and the finished work.

Keep people in charge
AI should be able to do the work you allow. You should decide on important actions and on how the result is used.

Say what is real
Be clear about what a product can do today, what depends on a connection or setup, and what is still being built.
